We left Las Grandas de Salime at 6 and walked into a blanket of fog. Astorias being Astorias it wouldn't let us leave before trying to kill us with serious hills! Still we soldiered on until we emerged above the fog and it just sits in the valley. Eventually, we crossed the state line into Galicia, strange because it will be nearly a year since John and I crossed it on the French way. It was great to be back, to sample all the mystical feelings of walking along tracks that have been used for a millennia. Last year, I received a message from the ghosts, I wonder what it will be this time on the Last Camino.
The afternoon was long a very hot and we were glad of the fountains which seem to be in the old villages. Susie practically had a bath in them to cool down. We reached Fonsagraddon which is a quaint hillside town and we're having a rest day tomorrow. That was not before having to scale an acute climb, virtually sadistic after a hot afternoon.
