Great day today but let me tell you about last night. We were renting an apartment in a small town Pola de Gordon. The owner was a lovely man called Pablo, not only was the apartment big and well kept but I checked with him about the local restaurants for supper. He assured me (via Google translate) that they were not worth trying but he would drive us to his local Taverna and wait while we ate as he assured us that the road was dangerous. Translated by Susie whose Spanish is good having lived in Bolivia. He drove us there and we had a massive 3 course meal including drinks and coffee for 15 euro each! Food was incredible so I'm giving him a 5 star review.
Anyway today, 15k hike upto 1500k. The views were well worth the effort as you can see above. We've arrived in Poladura de Tercera and were staying in the only hotel in town which is rustic and beautiful. Photo tomorrow. We've met some lovely fellow pilgrims, a German born Scottish resident and a lovely lady from Quebec. More about them later. No sign of our grumpy German!
