I ventured out with my camera this afternoon. The noise coming through to my house was deafening with three stages blaring out. Now I´ve lived here for five years but the Feria never ceases to amaze me. Its hard to descibe this outflow of happiness and colour. Most of the ladies are in the most beautiful flamenco dresses and as I walked through the throng, there was handshakes, hugs and kisses everywhere. All the ages were dancing and taking part in this celebration of Spanish life. The traditions are so visible and will surely survive for many generations to come. These lovely people are dedicated to their town and their nation. Of course, great quantities of alcohol are consumed but there isn't any trouble. Everybody is here to party but while respecting each others right to have space and enjoy the afternoon. I love living here and I will never leave, The Spanish have shown me the joy of living even in the darkness after Siobhan passed. They have shown me there is light at the end of the tunnel, something that I can never thank them enough.
