Sorry but another picture of banners but I've been busy trying to do a years cleaning in a few days. A nice picture but time I explained the significamce of the colours. There are two hermanadads or brotherhoods in Alhaurin, the purple are based in this church San Sebastian which is at the bottom of my street. They are responsible for all of the parades and I think the membership is based on family connections. The other hermanadad are the greens who are based at the church of Vera Cruz up the hill. All the important processions are organised by these guys. Jojn and Susie arrive tomorrow by bus from Malaga which has already been made difficult by the Feria (and my difficulty of not being able to drive because of the stroke) as the buses are being re-routed to avoid the main feria ground. So tomorrow is a big day for me, I've finally decided to take on the Caminito del Rey! Built in the early 20th century high along a gorge between Ardales and El Chorro it was originally meant to provide passage for the workers of the hydro-electric company. It feel into disrepair and became a popular haunt of danger seekers. Eventually closed because of fatalities, it was restored in 2015 and re-opened as one of the most popular tourist sites in the world. I promise to post tomorrow evening if I get back alive!
