Happy Easter to all!! I thought that I would just reflect on the celebration of Easter in my pueblo blanco here in the beautiful Guadalhorce Valley.
It is a busy time for all, particually for us who live in the historic centre! It starts of on Maundy Thursday with the procession of Maria de La Solidad or Our Lady of Solitude, dedicated to Christ's mother and her trials and tribulations during the first Holy Week. The procession started at 9pm and took at least an hour to pass by my front door. It involved all ages who were resplendent in costume. The climax was the effigy of the Virgin Mother bourne by fifty men.
On Good Friday, there was an enactment of the trial of Jesus and his journey to Calgary. The streets were packed, with local residents bringing their chairs down to the street. At times, it felt that is was not a place for claustrophobia sufferers, but  quite safe because of the considerate behaviour of all who attend.

The procession is as long as the day before but what is most touching is that when the effigies of Jesus, bourne by men, and Mary, bourne by ladies, come through, everybody stands in respect.
The day culminates in the renactment of the Cruxifiction outside the town hall at the top of the town. Last night, the Ressurection was reenacted and today is just a wonderful celebration of bells and music.
So, another Easter over and that leaves me with 5 more weeks preparation before the Camino. I will keep you updated!
