There is great excitement here in Alhaurin el Grande because its the week before the annual Feria. Ferias are a big part of Spanish life, almost every town or city has one every year and they usually occur between April and October. In my pueblo blanco, it starts on Thursday and continues until Sunday. The workers are hard at it erecting all the temporary structures which will house all the different events and along this road will be the massive funfair which runs through the night. Around my house, the roads are closed and great shades are erected to protect from the hot sun. Its hard to describe so I promise loads of photos next week. At the moment, I'm feeling a heady mix of excitement and nervous apprehension because my fellow pilgrims are arriving next week to experience the madness before we leave on the Camino
