A sad day yesterday. Olivia and I together with our friend Matt scattered Siobhan's ashes from the top of Mount Calamorro 2000 feet above the Costa del Sol. We cried but felt relieved that we had done it. Now we know that our beautiful and wonderful wife and mother was finally free. We know this is what she wanted, to wonder free in the wind above the Costa, the Med and the Guadalhorce Valley that she loves so dearly. We placed the ashes of one of our family dogs Lexi with her as they always had a very special connection. Siobhan loved all of our animals together throughout the years but Lexi was her favourite without a doubt and now they can be together on their travels. Although her remains are gone now (although we've kept some small samples) we know that she will always be looking down on us.
Today, we've tried to get back to the business of the Camino. Olivia has designed a great tee shirt so please watch for pictures when we get them in a few days. I walked 8 Km around Alhaurin to try and clear my head and it was lovely to see the preparations for the annual feria. The streamers above the street keep a lovely shade against the hot midday sun and the streets will be crammed with all sorts of costumes, stalls and colour. I will try and talk more in further blogs before I leave for the camino. When I got back home, one of the charities had sent tee shirts for me and John to wear.
