So we have spent a lovely rest day in Burgos. A beautiful city but apparently the coldest city in Spain! It was a chilly 7 degrees this morning (at least for an Andalucian boy). We have discovered it's easier to do laundry at a launderette rather than sticking it the shower cubicle and drying it on the balcony! After a lovely breakfast (best bacon sandwich ever) we went to the Cathedral)

Well you don't have to be religious or an art avicionada to appreciate its majesty. For just 5 euro( reduced for pilgrims!) you get a very informative audio guide.

We were still trying to find the tomb of the legendary warrior El Cid (Charlton Heston played him in film of the same name) who spent most of his life fighting the Moors and.... well anyone else who was up for it. As Spain was divided into different kingdoms at that time, it wasn't too difficult to find a bundle.

So tomorrow we are back on the road looking to get under the 500 K to go mark. That involves crossing the Meseta high but flat plains of wheat fields with little feature and little shade.
